Volkswagen Malaysia previewed its Touareg Hybrid in the VW Das Auto KL 2012 event about a month ago. Now, Volkswagen Malaysia launches the Touareg Hybrid in Malaysia, further pushing Volkswagen's 'Think Blue' initiative, where eco-friendliness and protecting the environment are some of the main focuses.
The Touareg Hybrid comes with a 3.0 litre supercharged V6 petrol engine and a 1.73kWh Ni-Mh battery which produces a combined output of 380 PS and 580Nm of torque from 3000rpm to 5250rpm. This is not a hybrid car to be messed with as the Touareg Hybrid can spur from 0-100km/h in only 6.5 seconds, not to mention it weighs 2.3 tonnes! Fuel consumption is rated at 12.2km/l.
The battery is recharged while driven and the Touareg Hybrid comes with start-stop engine, regenerative braking system, e-Mode and Hybrid Powertrain Monitoring System to optimize and monitor the energy usage. Continue Reading »
