
Mention the words "people carrier", and nothing close to sporty, dynamic or maybe desirable comes in mind. Even if appearance is set aside, they are still loomed with questions on higher fuel consumption, maneuverability and lower resale value compared to cars. There is however a couple of exceptions like the previous generation Toyota Wish.
Introduced back in 2003, it was Toyota's answer to the Honda Stream. Having good looks and badge credibility, it raked in strong sales in Japan including the reconditioned vehicle market in many other parts of the region. As a matter of fact, it is still highly sought after today even though its successor was revealed 3 years back, with prices hovering about RM80K for a 2003 unit to almost RM120K for a full-fledged unregistered 2008 Wish featuring reverse camera, navigation system, sun roof and body kit.
Many found homes just by looks alone. With a tapered front end, swept back head lamps and simple chrome garnish above the air intake, one can easily tell it borrowed quite a bit from car designs.
