A yellow Ford Focus ST was on display in Mid Valley and I got to say it looks amazing. A normal Focus hatchback already look low-slung and sporty enough, but with the 18-inch alloy wheels (17-inch on the Focus), redesigned front and rear bumper with 10mm lower ground clearance, the Ford Focus ST gives an impression that it is ready to fight in the hot-hatch segment, in full power.
Ford Focus ST is powered by a 2.0 litre Ti-VCT EcoBoost engine which churns out 250PS at 6500rpm and 340Nm of torque at a low 1750rpm. These figures enable the Focus ST to achieve 100km/h from 0km/h in only 6.5seconds!
I believe Volkswagen Golf GTi is Focus ST's main competitor, and the Golf GTi available here produces 210PS from 5300rpm and 280Nm from 1700rpm. Focus ST is better in paper if compared to Golf GTi, but Volkswagen somehow has managed to make the Golf GTi to go from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds. Continue Reading »
