New: Case Study, Ebook, and Community Challenge
Hey TKAers -
Mark here. Court and I have some big updates on The Keyword Academy we wanted to share with all current and former members of the community:
- Court is launching a new, live case study for members of The Keyword Academy.
- We have a brand new update to our Keyword Crash Course ebook.
- We're launching a new community challenge on August 27th.
- Open enrollment to The Keyword Academy will be closed on August 23rd (so you might want to start a 30-day trial now).
Court Begins a New Niche Site Case Study
Guess what? Niche sites still work. Sure, things have changed (improved, we'd say, thanks to so many people getting out of the game) in the last year or so. But setting up a site to target a few different keyword groups can still work as well as it ever did. We need to lead the way in proving it, so Court is beginning a new case study this week.
He'll be "live-journaling" the case study in
The Keyword Academy Forum, (members' link). So far Court has already set up the site, added posts, and started the promotion process. He's had some interesting findings with early ranking data - definitely worth checking out.
Reintroducing The Keyword Crash Course
Over the last three weeks, Court has been fully updating our approach to keyword selection. He's used his ideas on keyword value and competition, as well as my thoughts on long-tail targeting.
We're excited with the result, and excited to revive the "Crash Course" name which has been with us for years now.
Court followed the new ebook to the letter in choosing his kewyord set for the new case study, so you'll want to have a look.
The new Keyword Crash Course will be available in the members' area for the next 30 days or so. After that, we'll be pulling it out and selling it as a standalone product. Make sure you download a copy right away, because once it's gone it's gone.
(You'll find a download link at the beginning of Court's case study thread in the forum if you decide to take a free 30-day trial of The Keyword Academy.)
New Community Challenge: Niche Sites with Court
Court's building out a new site - why not join him? If you've been struggling to get started, or struggling to get re-started, join the community in a new challenge. Over the years we've found that our community challenges unite the community and get people to stretch themselves beyond anything they previously thought they were capable of.
The challenge will start Monday, August 27th. Within the next few days we'll be announcing a goofy name, the challenge rules, and - most importantly of all - the prizes (see, we're really strange - we actually use cool prizes to bribe our members to work on their own businesses).
If you're new, and you need some support and accountability to help you get moving in the right direction, a community challenge might be just the thing you need to get going. You'll get more details after starting your trial membership.
Enrollment Will Temporarily Close on August 23rd
Court and I will be temporarily closing enrollment on August 23rd for a couple of reasons:
- We want to focus on the current members, putting as much energy as we can into the new case study and the community challenge.
- We're considering changes to our membership that would require new members to clear a slightly higher hurdle before joining (in hopes of enrolling only those people who understand what The Keyword Academy is about and are already sold on the approach).
We're not sure when we'll reopen.
So that's the news!
If you were ever thinking about taking a trial membership of The Keyword Academy, now's the right time.
Click here to start a 30-day trial today.
Thanks,
Mark and Court
PS - We'll be looking for input on rules and prizes for the new challenge, so start brainstorming!
